Academics

Humanities Division

Humanities programs at Northwest explore the many aspects of human expression: language, literature, creativity, and culture. As we study the work of writers and artists and thinkers and doers, we work to help students find their own voices, master other languages, and develop their analytical reading and writing abilities.

Thus, we offer programs and courses in:
  • Literary studies (English & American, French, and Spanish)
  • Writing (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, technical)
  • Language (Spanish, French, Hebrew, and classical Greek)
  • Interdisciplinary cultural studies (American Studies, media and society)
  • Philosophy (logic, history of philosophy, religion)
We invite you to explore the courses and programs that each of our areas offers. For more information, feel free to contact any of our faculty. We welcome your questions.
