International Studies


International Studies at Northwest College provides a solid foundation of coursework for students interested in pursuing a baccalaureate degree in international studies, and for a wide variety of employment opportunities, both domestically and abroad. Our program is interdisciplinary and students have a great deal of flexibility in designing their program of study to match their career interests. Students majoring in international studies take a total of 21 hours from the international studies curriculum and 8 hours of a single foreign language. These outcomes will be the 2 year basis for a BA program.

International Business: Agricultural Economics, Management, Labor Relations, Banking and Finance, Economics, International Development, Real Estate, etc. International Relations/Government: International Law, Diplomacy, Foreign Affairs, Public Service, Institutional/Community Development Nonprofit/Government: Human Services, Public Health, Disaster/Disease Relief, Policy Development, Program Administration, Program Evaluation, etc. Language Services/Education: Teaching, Curriculum Development, Research and Writing, International Student Support Services, Study Abroad Programming, etc. Journalism: Foreign News Correspondence, International Broadcasting, Reporting, Editorial/Column Writing, Investigative Journalism, Research, Photography, etc.
