Strengthening Institutions Grant

PURPOSE

The legislation that established the Title III program is designed to:  "improve the academic quality, institutional management, and fiscal stability of eligible institutions, in order to increase their self-sufficiency and strengthen their capacity to make a substantial contribution to the higher education resources of the Nation."

NWC GRANT

Northwest College received its Title III grant and began official activities October 1, 2005.  The College has been awarded $365,000 each year since that time.  The grant activity carried out during this reporting period targets Improving Learning Outcomes and Student Success.

GRANT OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the grant are designed to improve student learning and success.  Targets address three major areas. 

• First year experience and retention
• Instructional technology and distance education options.
• Data collection analysis and application to better track student outcomes from grant and related new initiatives.
