International Student

Applying to NWC requires completion of an online application form (Step 1 and 2) and submission of several documents (steps 3-9).

Northwest College applications are accepted year-round.

Step 1: Apply to NWC

On the application, you will be asked to pay a $50 nonrefundable application fee. Payment can be made using a VISA or MASTERCARD or money order.

All international students must be 18 years of age by the time they arrive in Wyoming. Applicants who are 17 years old are encouraged to apply, however NWC requires all international students to have reached Wyoming's Age of Majority of 18 years of age by the time they arrive on campus.  

Step 2: Application Fee

If you didn't submit your credit card information on the application form, you must call or mail your $50 application fee to:

Step 3: Submit Financial Support Documentation

You must demonstrate access to sufficient funds to cover all expenses at NWC for at least one academic year. Do this by downloading and completing the Statement of Financial Support form.

  • NOTE: You must fill out both the applicant and sponsor information.
  • An official bank statement dated within six months of the official NWC start date must be submitted along with the Statement of Financial Support. 
  • Evidence of support may include bank letters verifying personal and family assets and/or sponsorship by a third party.
  • The name that appears on the evidence of support must match the applicant or sponsor's information.
The official estimate of one academic year can be found on the estimated costs page.

Students receiving government funding do not have to complete the Confidential Statement of Support form. Evidence of support must include government scholarship letter.

Step 4: Submit English Language Proficiency Scores

Submit an official English proficiency test score (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.) or SAT score to prove English proficiency. If you do not have one of these scores, you will be required to take Northwest's English placement test prior to arrival.

    Step 5: Submit Transcripts and Diplomas

    Submit an official, certified secondary school transcript showing courses and   grades for any high school courses you have taken. All documents must be in English.

    Students transferring from withing the U.S. must submit an official transcript from the U.S. institution.

    Step 6: Submit Immunization Records

    Provide proof of:

    • Immunity to Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR)
    • Current Tuberculosis test (TB)

      Step 7: Submit Statement of Purpose

      Send us a short essay in English describing your educational and career goals. 

       

      Step 8: Submit Passport

      Send us a copy of your passport ID page and any current U.S. visas. If you are transferring from a U.S. school, submit a copy of your I-20 and I-94.
