General Items
• Served as Music Department Coordinator
• Designed the music department advertisement for the Wyoming Music Educators Journal
• Designed and coordinated mailing of over 400 music recruiting posters to high schools in the region
• wrote letters of congratulations to all the wind and percussion players in the Wyoming Allstate Band and Orchestra
• wrote letters of congratulations to all the wind and percussion players in the Montana Allstate Band and Orchestra
• Served on the Board as Chair of the Yellowstone Jazz Festival, Inc.
• Wrote Wyoming Arts Council grants for the Yellowstone Jazz Festival, Inc.
• Served as Treasurer of the Wyoming Unit of the International Association for Jazz Education
• Served on the Wyoming IAJE Executive Board handling mailings and financial details for the Wyoming Allstate IAJE Jazz Band and Jazz Choir
• Maintained and updated the Music Department Website
• Maintained and updated the website for the Wyoming Unit of International Association of Jazz Educators
• Wrote a grant to the Wyoming Arts Council for the following college events: Northwest Jazz Festival, Yellowstone Jazz Camp, Festival of Trumpets, Yellowstone Summer Music Camp.
• Served as Faculty Advisor for the student music club (MENC - Music Educators National Conference)
• Performed numerous performances on trumpet with the Craig Olson Orchestra across the region
• Organized and rehearsed the Trapper Pep Band for 11 home basketball games
June 2004
• Organized & Directed the Yellowstone Summer Music Camp which brought over 150 students to campus from six states. This camp is one of only two in the state and was its 14 th successful year.
• The Yellowstone Summer Music Camp presented 3 public recitals and a final concert attended by over 350 parents, friends and community members.
July 2004
• Served on the Board of Directors of the Yellowstone Jazz Festival, Inc.
• Organized and directed the Yellowstone Jazz Camp This was the 17 th year for the camp which is now the longest running jazz camp in the entire Rocky Mountain region.
• Directed the Yellowstone Big Band in concert on the concert of the Yellowstone Jazz Festival in Cody
• The camp brought students from 5 states to the College Field Camp.
October 2004
• Organized faculty to attend the Montana Allstate Convention in Great Falls
• Presented a demonstration on trumpet for residents of the Rocky Mt Manor
• Organized the display booth for Northwest College at the Montana Allstate Convention in Great Falls , MT
• Directed the Northwest Jazz Band in a performance for students at Westside Elementary in Powell
• Organized, directed and performed for the Festival of Trumpets event on the Northwest campus which brought over twenty trumpet players from across the region to Powell. The featured artist was Greg Wing from the Morehead State University .
• Organized and directed the Northwest Jazz Band on tour with the Singers to schools in southeast Montana . The groups performed for over 1,200 students in the following schools: Red Lodge, Miles City , Sidney , Fairview , Glendive and Hardin , MT.
November 2004
• Organized and coordinated the honor band of the North Big Horn Basin District Clinic on the Northwest campus. This event brings over 200 of the best musicians from across the Big Horn Basin to Powell for two days of rehearsals and concert.
• Conducted the Southwest Wyoming District High School Honor Band in Pinedale.
• Performed on trumpet for the Greybull Community Theatre production of Anything Goes
• Attended the 79 th Annual Convention of the National Association of Schools of Music in San Diego , CA as the representative from Northwest College
• Served on the Commission for Community/Junior Colleges at NASM
• Conducted the Northwest College Wind Band and the Jazz Band in concerts on campus.
December 2004
• Organized and performed in brass ensemble for Vespers Concert
• Directed the Wind Band in a performance at the Nursing Home
January 2005
• Organized and directed the IAJE Allstate Reading Band at the Wyoming Allstate Music Festival in Gillette. This group includes music directors from across the state of Wyoming at public school thru University levels
• Organized Northwest College students for the Wyoming Intercollegiate Band which presented a concert at the Wyoming Allstate Music Festival
• Organized the display booth for Northwest College at the Wyoming Allstate Music Festival in Gillette
• Supervised music students who attended the Allstate Festival in Gillette
February 2005
• Organized and scheduled the Showalter Music Festival which brought nearly 500 Junior High age musicians to the college from across the region
• Served as the Head onsite evaluator for the National Association of Schools of Music for the review of Grand Rapids Community College .
• Placed an ad and offered camp scholarships to students at the Mile High Jazz Festival in Denver
• Directed the Northwest Jazz Band in concert for the Tri-County (MT) Honor Band concert in Joliet .
March 2005
• Served as the Producer for the 22 nd Annual Northwest Jazz Festival.
• Organized all the student workers for the Northwest Jazz Festival.
• Directed the Northwest Jazz Band in concert to open the Northwest Jazz Festival for the Darren Kramer Organization
• During Spring Break I visited music rooms in the following locations and spoke with directors and students about Northwest College : Cody, Powell, Byron, Bridger, Fromberg, Billings West, Senior and Skyview HS
• Hosted the US Army Jazz Ambassadors group in a concert at Powell High School .
April 2005
• Directed the College Wind Band in concert on campus in a joint concert with Rocky Mountain High School Band.
• Organized music performances with the Jazz Band and Singers on tour
• Directed the Northwest Jazz Band at the UNC/Greeley Jazz Festival
May 2005
• Directed the Northwest Wind Band for Northwest College Graduation ceremonies
• Directed the Northwest Jazz Band in concert
• Traveled to various schools to work on recruiting musicians for the music camps
• Organized the end of the year music department awards cookout for students and faculty at the music theme house
