Choose a Career
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are currently more than 12,000 careers to choose from. This sheer number of possibilities can make the idea of choosing a career seem very intimidating. However, your search becomes much more manageable if you begin by focusing on the most important thing in your career search — yourself. Instead of asking which career you are best suited for, ask yourself which career best suits you. Begin your career search by identifying your interests, values, education, training, personality, life values, leisure preferences, and skills. Then, choose careers that correlate with your traits. This process will dramatically narrow the field of jobs to choose from while increasing chances of job satisfaction. The "Focus" link can help you to identify your traits along with correlating career suggestions.
