
Eligibility Requirements
To complete the application process at Northwest College you must:
- File the FAFSA or FAFSA Renewal Application and have financial need. (www.fafsa.ed.gov )
- Complete the Northwest College Student Information Form. (PDF)
- Have a high school diploma or GED certificate on file with the Admissions Office.
- Be accepted for admission as a regular student in a certificate or degree program offered by Northwest College. Apply online here.
- Usually,
be enrolled at least half time (Pell Grants are available to eligible
students enrolled less than half time.) You must be at least half time
to take out Student Loans, or be eligible for FSEOG, Work Study, or
LEAPP.
- Have a Social Security Number.
- Meet Standards of Satisfactory Academic Progress and be in good satisfactory academic standing at Northwest College.
- Register with Selective Service, if required (males only).
- Be a U.S. citizen or national, or a permanent resident of the U.S. OR
- Be
a citizen of the Freely Associated States: the Federated States of
Micronesia and the Republics of Palau and the Marshall Islands; or be
in the U.S. for other than a temporary purpose.
- Meet the necessary deadline for application
- Submit all documentation required by the FAO to complete the processing of your application.
- Not receive aid from another institution for the same period of enrollment.
Scholarship eligibility criteria
Are defined separately for each scholarship program. Refer to the our
Scholarships Web site
for our Scholarship Application Packet/information for specific
criteria. Need-based scholarships usually require the student to
provide a statement of financial need and/or demonstrate financial need
based on the FAFSA Application results.

Priority Deadline
Reminder: The priority deadline for applying for federal financial aid is:
Fall semester: March 1st
Spring semester: October 1st
If you submit paperwork after the priority date, your financial aid may not be ready the first day of classes and other payment arrangements must be made.
