Financial Aid

How Eligibility is Calculated

For financial aid purposes, financial need is determined by the following formula:

                 Cost of Attendance (COA)
              - Expected Family Contribution
                 Financial Need

Eligible students are awarded aid on a first-come, first-served basis without regard to race, color, sex, age, national origin, or disability.

The types of aid awarded to each student will depend on the student's need, as well as the availability of funds and the student's preferences. Students should keep in mind, however, that no aid will be awarded until all required documents are received and processed through the FAO (see Verification).

Notify Us

A student's COA and financial aid awards are usually based on the student's status on the first day of classes and are not adjusted for changes that occur during the semester. The student should notify the FAO if a class is:

  • added
  • dropped
  • cancelled
before it begins as your financial aid eligibility may be affected.
