Quick Facts
The Bighorn Canyon stretches 55 miles through Wyoming and Montana.
The gorge cut by the Bighorn river has cliffs over 2000 feet high.
Bighorn sheep frequent the area, as well as numerous wild horses from the Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range.
The Recreation Area was established in 1966 after the Yellowtail Dam was completed in Montana.
