Bighorn Canyon

Quick Facts

• The Bighorn Canyon stretches 55 miles through Wyoming and Montana.
• The gorge cut by the Bighorn river has cliffs over 2000 feet high.
• Bighorn sheep frequent the area, as well as numerous wild horses from the Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range.
• The Recreation Area was established in 1966 after the Yellowtail Dam was completed in Montana.
