Google Earth

What is it?

Google Earth is a free product that uses satellite imagery, maps, terrain and 3D buildings to allow you to view and explore the world's geographic information right from your computer.   With Google Earth you can explore the NWC campus map as overlaid on a satellite image of the town of Powell.

Note: Google Earth is a broadband, 3D application that not all computers can run. Desktop computers older than 4 years old may not be able to run it. Notebook computers older than 2 years old may not be able to run it.

How do I use it?

To view the NWC campus map in Google Earth, you will need to follow these steps:
  • Download Google Earth (you will only need to do this the first time)
  • Download the NWC Google Earth map file to your computer
  • Start Google Earth and open the file you downloaded (nwc_google_earth.kml)
  • Use the tools in the top right corner to zoom, tilt and rotate the 3D map of NWC
