What's a Community College?
Community colleges are two-year institutions that award associate degrees upon completion of a 2-year program of study. There are more than 1,100 two-year institutions in the United States, serving more than 10 million students. Earning an associates degree allows students to
- Transfer to a 4-year college or university to obtain a bachelor's degree, usually after 2 additional years of study.
- Begin a career immediately in any on of hundreds of fields that do not require a 4-year, bachelor's degree.
- Save a significant amount of money by completing your first two years of study at a more affordable institution.
