Federal Grant Opportunities

The Wyoming and Federal Ongoing Grant Opportunity sections include information concerning individual and other small grant opportunities that Northwest College faculty or staff have previously shown an interest in and are available most every year.

Please don't hesitate to request help from the Grants Office before applying.

These lists are by no means exhaustive. If you know of a grant opportunity that your colleagues should be aware of, please contact us.

Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad

The Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad program funds seven to ten seminars each year for "U.S. educators in the social sciences and humanities for the purpose of improving their understanding and knowledge of the peoples and cultures of other countries."

Seminars typically range from four to six weeks in length and an award includes travel, room and board, fees, and other program-related expenses.

Locations vary each year; for example, 2008 seminar locations include Bulgaria, Greece, Korea, Morocco, and South Africa.

Fulbright New Century Scholars Programs

Each year, Fulbright accepts 30 or so scholars from around the world to participate in a short global program. In 2006, the topic was "Higher Education in the 21st Century: Access and Equity."

Fulbright Scholar Programs

There are a number of Fulbright Scholar grant programs available that help to fund faculty lecturing and/or research abroad. Opportunities are also available for administrators. Northwest College strongly encourages its faculty and staff to take part in such opportunities whenever possible.

Before applying, please contact the Academic Affairs Office regarding scheduling implications.
