
About Hinckley Library
Hinckley Library serves all Northwest students, staff, faculty, in addition to outreach students and area residents.
Hinckley Library is a member of the Wyoming Libraries Database (WYLD) consortium. This membership allows us to share an automated library system and holdings (information resources) with over 80 other member libraries in Wyoming, including academic libraries, public libraries, school & special libraries, and the Wyoming State Library. Through enhanced purchasing power we can offer several subscription-only online databases and resources not otherwise possible. We house:
- Over 57,000 book volumes
- 81,000 pieces of microform
- A growing collection of audiovisual materials
- 385 periodical titles
- State and federal documents (we are a Federal depository library)
- An excellent collection of online full-text resources that give you access to thousands of journal, magazine, and newspaper articles
Hinckley Library houses collections on two floors with stairs and elevator access.
The main floor includes reference, instructors' reserves, oversize, music, audiovisual, juvenile, map and archive collections as well as an amphitheater, student computer lab, meeting rooms, study areas, audiovisual viewing/listening rooms, scanner, smartboard/computer projector equipment, MAC/PC computer access to the library catalog and Internet, and
wireless personal computer access (you must register your computer with Computer Services in Moyer Building 104 (1-307-754-6080) - see
campus map). Select rooms and equipment may be
reserved.
The second floor houses the main circulating collection, periodicals, print indexes, government documents, microform and microform reader/printers, computers, study tables, typewriters and a fax/photocopy machine.
