  • A & P Revealed — McGraw-Hill's Anatomy & Physiology Revealed is an interactive cadaver dissection experience. A & P uses cadaver photos combined with a layering technique that allows the user to peel away layers of the human body to reveal structures beneath the surface. A & P Revealed offers animations, radiologic imaging, audio pronunciations, and more. NOTE: A&P should now work from off-campus computers. Once you are connected to A&P you may be prompted by A&P to login again. Use your NWC login. It also may take up to 2 minutes for A&P to open. Please be patient.   • A to Z Maps Online — Created by World Trade Press, this is the largest database of proprietary, royalty-free world, continent, country, and state maps. Included in the 4,000+ maps are: political, physical, outline, population, precipitation, climate, and other thematic maps. New maps are added to the collection every month.
  • Academic Search Premier — (via EbscoHost) Full text for nearly 4,700 publications, including more than 3,600 peer-reviewed journals. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further.
  • Access Science — An online version of Encyclopedia of Science and Technology; also includes biographies of well-known scientists.
  • Agricola — (via EbscoHost) Contains bibliographic records from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Library. Coverage back to 1970 and includes more than 2.5 million citations. The citations are comprised of journal articles, monographs, theses, patents, software, audiovisual materials, and technical reports related to agriculture.
  • America's Historical Newspapers (1690-2000) (Newsbank) — Find news articles covering topics in government, politics, social issues, culture, literature discoveries, inventions and more from hundreds of primary sources . Newsbank also includes current events and special reports.
  • American Veterinary Medical Association — Association for veterinarians. Includes PDF links to their online journals (JAVMA & AJVR).
  • Annual Reviews Online — Synthesis of social science & scientific literature; NWC has Ecology, Evolution & Systematics; Anthropology; Psychology; & Sociology in full-text. All other reviews are abstract only. 1996 - current
  • Associates Programs Source Plus — From EBSCOHost,  this database  (also referred to as Vocational Studies Premier) is designed specifically for the research needs of two-year colleges, and provides comprehensive coverage of the most relevant associates program level content.  The database covers subjects as wide-ranging as: alcohol & drug abuse counseling, audiology, biotechnology, computer & data processing, CAD, cosmetology, electrical technology, fashion design, forensics, graphic arts, health information technology, interior design, law enforcement & criminal justice, paralegal studies, robotics, travel & tourism, veterinary assisting, and dozens more.
  • CRC Handbook of Chemistry & Physics — The online version of the CRC Handbook of Chemistry & Physics
  • Credo Reference — General reference source, aggregating content of major subjects from the "best publishers of reference."
  • New Database Dissertations & Theses (via Proquest) — The official digital dissertations archive for the Library of Congress and the database of record for graduate research. Full-text for most entries since 1997. Abstracts back to 1980.
  • EarthTrends — EarthTrends is a comprehensive online database, maintained by the World Resources Institute, that focuses on the environmental, social, and economic trends that shape our world.
  • Films on Demand — Collection by Films Media Group (FMG) of online educational videos. These films are viewed through streaming video and can be linked by faculty into online classes. Flash is the recommended viewing software. If streaming is not smooth, try a lower playback file size (300, or 400).
  • Gale Reference (GVRL) — All of your favorite reference books online. Search within one reference title, across several reference titles, or even across several other Gale databases.  Note: GVRL may perform better with Firefox browser rather than Internet Explorer.
  • GeoRef (Proquest) — This database, established by the American Geological Institute (AGI) in 1966, provides access to the geoscience literature of the world. Searching also includes GeoRef In Process and Proquest Deep Indexing: Earth Sciences.
  • Global Road Warrior — Created by World Trade Press, this database provides statistics on countries around the world: demographics, banking, culture, climate, images, transportation, health, maps, travel, embassies, etc.
  • Greenfile (Ebsco) — From EBSCO, Greenfile offers well-researched information covering all aspects of human impact to the environment. Its collection of scholarly, government and general-interest titles includes content on global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more.
  • Grzimek's Animal Life Online — The standard, premier animal encyclopedia that includes ancillary topics such as biomes, endangered species, prehistoric animals, etc. and media additions (interactive maps, photos, video and audio tracks).
  • New Database HathiTrust — HathiTrust (pronounced "Hot'-y" is a partnership of major research institutions and libraries working to ensure that the cultural record is preserved and accessible long into the future. There are more than sixty partners in HathiTrust, and membership is open to institutions worldwide.
  • JSTOR — Provides  full-text to scholarly journals in administration, African-American studies, anthropology, Asian studies, business, ecology, economics, education, finance, history, law, literature, mathematics, philosophy, political science, population, psychology, public policy, sociology, statistics,  US and International Music research and theory, and more... Current issues are not included.
  • Mobile Search to Academic Search Premier & Other Ebsco Databases — Ebsco-provided databases formatted for your mobile phone, iTouch, iPhone, BlackBerry, Dell Axiom, Palm 750 and other devices. Your database choices include our nursing, business, and history databases, Agricola and GeoRef. Javascript must be enabled on your device (BlackBerry users see Enable Javascript on BlackBerry.)
  • Nature Online — This Nature USA Edition from NPG is the online version of Nature journal.
  • OmniFile Full Text Select (via Ebscohost) — Full text access to magazine and journal articles. Covers about 1,700 periodicals, in all disciplines. From mid-1990s to the present.
  • OvidSP: LWW Nursing & Health Professions Premier Collection — OVID's (Wolters Kluwer) collection of searchable nursing journals and publications.
  • Proquest Biology Journals — This database provides access to a wide range of biology topics including some of the most popular information resources for users in academic, government and public research environments.
  • Proquest Central — An interdisciplinary database by Proquest; includes JBI (nursing evidence-based journals) and agricultural journals.
  • Proquest Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) Complete — The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requires that U.S. federal agencies or anyone receiving federal funding prepare detailed analyses of any of their actions that significantly affect the quality of the environment. Almost all developments, such as roads, houses and airports, have an impact on the environment. In recent years, EISs have looked increasingly at biodiversity. Most EIS documents will include a description of major habitats and a list of the plant and animal species present. They also pay particular attention to the presence of threatened species. Where the effects are considered significantly harmful to threatened species, an additional document, the Species Impact Statement (SIS), may also be prepared.

  • Proquest SciTech Collection — Proquest's full Science and Technology collection including biological, medical, physical, environmental, engineering, materials, toxicology, aerospace, telecommunications, computer sciences and much more!
  • Reader's Guide Retrospective: 1890-1982 — Wilson's Reader's Guide Index provides article citations written between 1890-1982. This resource cross-links to the library's Article Linker which searches for full-text articles. Now provided by EbscoHost.
  • Reference Universe-- Search Hinckley Library Reference (Paratext) — A search engine to search the complete back-of-the-book indexes and articles to over 16,000 reference works and then matches them to Hinckley Library's reference collection.
  • SIRS Researcher — Full text articles from newspapers, magazines, and government  publications. Especially good for current events and leading topics in the news.
  • Science Direct: College Edition — Peer-reviewed journals, books, handbooks, & reference books covering scientific, social science, medical and technical information.
  • Serials Locator — Have a journal citation but need to find which database carries the full text? Search for the journal's title in this electronic journal locator tool created by SerialsSolutions.
  • New Database Sora Online Journals - Ornithological Research Archive — Sora is an open access electronic journal archive and is the product of a collaboration between the American Ornithologists Union, the Cooper Ornithological Society, the Association of Field Ornithologists, the Wilson Ornithological Society and the University of New Mexico libraries and IT department.
  • USA.gov — The official portal for all USA federal, state. and local information, from online documents and resources to social security benefits, government jobs and tips on stretching your dollars.
  • New Database USGS Publications Warehouse — From the US Geological Survey, this warehouse contains publications including annual reports, bulletins, circulars, fact sheets, maps, reports, charts, investigations, memorandum, & more.
  • Water Resources Data System — (WRDS) Wyoming hydrological and climatological data plus a water resources library.
  • Wyoming Geographic Information Science Center (WyGISC) — An interdisciplinary research institute at the University of Wyoming focused on the development of geospatial information and technologies and their applications in science, education, government and business. Wyoming GeoData is available for download.
  • Wyoming Inventors Database — Indexes United States patents in which one or more of the inventors were from Wyoming.
  • New Database Wyoming Natural Diversity Database — From the University of Wyoming, WYNDD offers the most complete source of data for species and vegetation communities of conservation concern in Wyoming.
