- A & P Revealed — McGraw-Hill's Anatomy & Physiology Revealed is an interactive cadaver dissection experience. A & P uses cadaver photos combined with a layering technique that allows the user to peel away layers of the human body to reveal structures beneath the surface. A & P Revealed offers animations, radiologic imaging, audio pronunciations, and more. NOTE: A&P should now work from off-campus computers. Once you are connected to A&P you may be prompted by A&P to login again. Use your NWC login. It also may take up to 2 minutes for A&P to open. Please be patient. - A to Z Maps Online — Created by World Trade Press, this is the largest database of proprietary, royalty-free world, continent, country, and state maps. Included in the 4,000+ maps are: political, physical, outline, population, precipitation, climate, and other thematic maps. New maps are added to the collection every month.
- ABI-INFORM Complete (from Proquest) — This database is the most comprehensive ABI/INFORMâ„¢ database, comprised of ABI/INFORM Global, ABI/INFORM Trade and Industry, ABI/INFORM Dateline and ABI/INFORM Archive.
- ARTstor — This image database focuses on art, area studies, social history, sociology, and environment history. For scholars who are using images as evidence (rather than as illustration); images that span the richness of the physical and cultural world past and present.
- Academic Search Premier — (via EbscoHost) Full text for nearly 4,700 publications, including more than 3,600 peer-reviewed journals. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further.
- Access Science — An online version of Encyclopedia of Science and Technology; also includes biographies of well-known scientists.
- Agricola — (via EbscoHost) Contains bibliographic records from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Library. Coverage back to 1970 and includes more than 2.5 million citations. The citations are comprised of journal articles, monographs, theses, patents, software, audiovisual materials, and technical reports related to agriculture.
- Alternative Healthwatch — (via EbscoHost) Full text for 180 publications, many peer-reviewed journals; subject areas cover complementary and alternative medicine dating back to 1990.
- America's Historical Newspapers (1690-2000) (Newsbank) — Find news articles covering topics in government, politics, social issues, culture, literature discoveries, inventions and more from hundreds of primary sources . Newsbank also includes current events and special reports.
- American History in Video — Study and analyze American historical events, and their presentation over time, through commercial and governmental newsreels, archival footage, public affairs footage, and important documentaires.
- American Song — A history database that allows people to hear & feel the music from America's past. Includes songs by & about American Indians, miners, immigrants, slaves, children, pioneers, cowboys; songs of the Civil Rights, political campaigns, Prohibition, Revolutionary War, Civil War, anti-war protests, Africa-American music & more.
- American Veterinary Medical Association — Association for veterinarians. Includes PDF links to their online journals (JAVMA & AJVR).
- Ancestry Library — Partnered with MyFamily.com this collection of more than 4,000 databases covers U.S., U.K., and Canada and includes census, vital, church, court, and immigration records. In-library use only. Please come to Hinckley Library to use. Not available to off-campus students.
- Animal Health and Production Compendium (CABI) — Includes, but limited to, breeds datasheets and images, feeds and nutrition, food animal production, and disease information.
- Annual Reviews Online — Synthesis of social science & scientific literature; NWC has Ecology, Evolution & Systematics; Anthropology; Psychology; & Sociology in full-text. All other reviews are abstract only. 1996 - current
- Anthropological Index Online — An online index to locate anthropological articles.
- Associates Programs Source Plus — From EBSCOHost, this database (also referred to as Vocational Studies Premier) is designed specifically for the research needs of two-year colleges, and provides comprehensive coverage of the most relevant associates program level content. The database covers subjects as wide-ranging as: alcohol & drug abuse counseling, audiology, biotechnology, computer & data processing, CAD, cosmetology, electrical technology, fashion design, forensics, graphic arts, health information technology, interior design, law enforcement & criminal justice, paralegal studies, robotics, travel & tourism, veterinary assisting, and dozens more.
