Bodra, Oliverson receive Trapper awards
Trapper basketball players Ricardo Bodra and Kati Oliverson were honored by Northwest College last Wednesday evening by being named the male and female Trapper Award winners for the 2009- 2010 academic year. The awards were the highlight of the evening’s athletic award ceremony.

Bodra commits to South Dakota
Northwest College sophomore Ricardo Andreotti Bodra wanted to focus on his season with the Trappers and postponed taking multiple campus visits during the fall semester. The University of South Dakota first noticed Bodra during a scrimmage in Salt Lake City early in Bodra's freshman season but had to wait two years.

Everyone has heard the basketball adage that it's difficult to beat the same team three times in the same season. Northwest College men's basketball coach Andy Ward is hopeful his team is up to that challenge.

Trappers wrap up regular season
The Northwest College Trappers rebounded from a late-season loss at Sheridan to capture victory in the final two men's basketball games of the season. The Trappers closed out the regular season with wins over Central Wyoming and Casper College last week.

General-ly disappointed
The Northwest College men's basketball team lost more than a basketball game on Tuesday night. In falling 104-90 to Sheridan College, the Trappers also saw both the North sub-region title and the opportunity to host next month's Region IX championship tournament slip from their grasp.

Sub-region title on the line Thursday
Now the talking can begin. For more than a month, Northwest College men's basketball coach Andy Ward has casually deflected discussion of a possible sub-region title with the mantra "one game at a time." Now the Trappers are down to just one game, and Tuesday night is the time.

Assisted winning
The Northwest College men's basketball team set a high-water mark for the season, dishing out 35 assists on Tuesday night as part of a 110-64 victory at Little Big Horn College. The victory improves the Trappers to 20-5 overall, keeps the team undefeated in sub-region play and ends a nearly month-long road trip.

Trappers score road sweep
Northwest College scored an important sub-region sweep on the road Saturday as the Trapper men's and women's basketball teams picked up wins at Dawson Community College. The Trapper men snapped a two-game skid with an 83-74 win while the NWC women were 72-57 victors.

Bad day for NWC hoops
Northwest College suffered a hardwood rarity on Saturday as both the men's and women's basketball teams were defeated on the road at Eastern Wyoming. The Trapper men lost their second consecutive overtime decision, falling 92-86 after an extra five minutes. Northwest lost the women's game by a 75-56 final count.
