Course Requirements


Associate of Applied Science Degree with a specialization in Nursing
Nursing - Associate of Applied Science Degree

This is the option you are looking for if you want to work as a Registered Nurse (RN) after a four semester (two year) course of study.  Prerequisites apply that could increase the total number of semesters you’re enrolled in classes. Registered Nursing provides a solid foundation in the principles and theories of nursing for students planning to practice as Registered Nurses in the health care setting.  Students who successfully complete the program of study will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nursing.

Associate of Science Degree with a specialization in Allied Health

Allied Health - Associate of Science Degree

The Allied Health Specialization is designed for students preparing for the Nursing Program or a profession in Allied Health. Students planning to transfer to a four-year program may need to have additional hours beyond the specialization requirements of Northwest College in order to transfer as a junior.

Northwest College Skills Certificate

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

This is the option you are looking for if you want to work as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) after a three semester (one year) course of study.  Prerequisites apply that could increase the total number of semesters you’re enrolled in classes. Practical Nursing provides a solid foundation in the principles and theories of nursing for students planning to practice as Licensed Practical Nurses in the health care setting.  Students who successfully complete the program of study will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing. Contact the Program Coordinator for details on admission criteria.
