Program Director
Keith McCallisterNorthwest College's Outdoor Education & Recreation Leadership Department is lead by Keith McCallister. Before coming to NWC in 2003, Keith worked with programs throughout the country guiding and teaching expereintial education. Keith has taught in the outdoor field for over 15 years with programs such as the National Outdoor Leadership School, Jackson Hole Mountain Guides, Bloomsburg University, University of Northern Colorado, and Kent Mountain Adventure Center. His personal travels have taken him from the New Hamphsire to Georgia and coast to coast climbing in Yosemite, Mt. Rainier, Rocky Mountain, and Acadia National Parks.  He has also lead programs such as climbing, mountaineering and more to locations such as Pico de Orizaba in Mexico Scotland. Keith is currently a certified Wilderness First Responder, PCIA climbing instructor, ACA Whitewate instructor, Leave-No-Trace Master Educator and Professional member of the Association for Outdoor Recreation and Education.

In his spare time, Keith enjoys getting outdoors as much as possible with his wife Nicole and new son Riley.  In the few months he has been with them he has already been to the Beartooth mountains and hit the trails in Colorado!

Adjunct Faculty
As the owner and main instructor of Gradient Mountain Sports in Cody, Wyoming, Andy Quick has a wealth on knowledge when it comes to white water sports. As a graduate from the Northwest College Outdoor Education degree program and long time Cody, Wyoming resident, Andy knows all about the local areas and conditions. Andy has travelled across the country in a wide variety of outdoor activities as well as managing, teaching and running programs with Wyoming River Trips, Western State College and Northwest College.

Ted Preator, archeologist for the National Park Service and experienced caver has been teaching the PEAC 1286 Spelunking course for us.  Ted brings his vast knowledge of the local area, geology and past cultures alive to his students while exploring some truly wild and amazing underground locations.

The Northwest College Outdoor Education and Recreation Leadership program is fortunate to have access to a number of highly qualified and skilled outdoor professionals who are able to assist with teaching courses, as well act as "Assistant Outdoor Educators" on courses providing an additional person to support quality learning and effective risk management during programming taking place in the field.  The guidelines specify what the responsibilities are for the Assistant Outdoor Educators, and should anyone be interested in the opportunity to assist with classes, please contact the program director, Keith McCallister, by email.
