Scholarships

MASTER Scholar Scholarships

Do you have academic ability and strong potential?  Do you want a future focused on study and work in the sciences?

You may be eligible to become a MASTER Scholar at Northwest. Funded in part by the National Science Foundation, this program provides a scholarship and the opportunity to join a small group of students who share your interests. Science faculty and others at NWC will work closely with group members to explore the sciences through workshops and special events. Helping MASTER Scholars stay on track with their classes and goals is a key part of the program. Scholarships are available to freshmen and sophomores.

You must major in one of the follow programs of study:

Application Process

  1. Complete the online NWC Application for Admission,
  2. You must complete a FAFSA to qualify for a MASTER Scholar Scholarship. Do it on the Web at fafsa.ed.gov,
  3. Complete the online NWC Scholarship Application, then
  4. Attach/Mail required documents as instructed, and YOU’RE DONE!
  5. Provisional Award Letters are e-mailed as awarded.
  6. Final Award Letters* are e-mailed after you provide final documentation (your final high school transcript or official ACT score). The letter will also explain eligibility requirements to keep your scholarship for up to four consecutive semesters
* Should a student’s total federal aid and scholarships exceed the cost of attendance, Northwest College scholarship awards will be reduced.

Note

Annual values are $200 to full cost of attendance.

Funds are limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until exhausted. Apply as early as possible and no later than April 1, 2009.

Applications received after funds are exhausted are placed on a “Wait List.” They may or may not be awarded, depending upon funds available.
