Out-of-State Students

NWC Trapper Scholarship Program

NWC Trapper Scholarships for out of state students are awarded on four levels, each with specific eligibility requirements. See the grid below for details. Funds are limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until exhausted. Apply as early as possible and no later than April 1, 2009.

†Western Undergraduate Exchange Program 

Tuition Discount Scholarships that are valued over $2,300 per year. This scholarship is a 44% tuition discount from the out-of-state tuition rate, and is automatically awarded to admitted students who are residents of the following states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska††, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington

†† Northwest College extends the WUE scholarship to Nebraska residents even though Nebraska is not a WUE state.

Academic Scholarships

Academic Scholarships are available for all NWC AA, AS, and AAS degree programs. You must major in a program to apply.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • enroll full time, and
  • have at least a 2.0 GPA.
Annual values s are $200 and up.

Activity-Talent Scholarships

You may apply for as many Activity-Talent Scholarships as you wish. BUT REMEMBER, each scholarship you accept requires extra participation on your part, not just going to class.

  • Modern Languages – French or Spanish
  • Music – instrumental or vocal
  • Newspaper or Web Broadcasting
  • Spirit Squad
Annual values are $200 and up.

Athletics Scholarships

Annual values are $200 to full cost of attendance.

*open to new high school, GED, and home school students who graduate with their class and enroll full time (12 credit hours) at NWC the fall semester after graduation (international students and athletes not eligible; talk with your recruiter/coach about scholarships available). The scholarship will be awarded a second year to those who meet continuing eligibility requirements.

If your financial aid awards for the academic year exceed your Cost of Attendance, NWC scholarship funding will be reduced.
