Disability Support Services
Northwest College is required to respond to the appropriate needs of students with documented disabilities as outlined in both Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (Amendments Act) of 2008. Through the provision of auxiliary aids and services, students with disabilities are able to equally access and participate in the programs, services, and activities at Northwest College.
Overview of Disability Support Services to Students and Faculty
Northwest College is committed to responding to the needs of students with documented disabilities as outlined both in the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (PL 93-616) and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (PL 1010-336). Disability Support Services within the division of Student Affairs is responsible for working with students to assess the presence of a documented disability and to determine appropriate accommodations. The Disability Support Services Coordinator provides the students' professors with a letter of notification of disabling conditions and an accommodations form which includes a list of needed accommodations. The Disability Support Services Coordinator is available to work with faculty as they plan for and implement accommodations.
