Animal Science

Associate of Science

Animal Scientists are concerned with the application of the principles of biological, physical, and social sciences to problems associated with livestock production and management.  The curriculum, leading to an Associate of Science degree with specialization in Animal Science, includes the science, art, and business principles involved in animal care.  It also involves the products of food animals:  meat, dairy foods, and eggs.  Students are prepared to transfer into advanced degree programs in any several options within animal science including nutrition, genetics, reproduction management or biotechnologies.  Some students will choose to pursue degrees in food science.
